More pics....

Every time I try to download more than one picture, it gets ALMOST done, then it craps out. I really DO NOT LIKE DIAL UP. Ugh, I am clearly a spoiled internet high speed BRAT!

I will take several deep cleansing breaths, and try again.

If we are successful, you will see that Leeza also looks quite lovely in pink.
In fact, I am sure that she looks pretty cute in almost any color. :)

Update: I have tried like 5x and it gets almost loaded up,then it craps out.
I'M TOTALLY FRUSTRATED.
So, now I'm going to do laundry instead.
I will try later...sorry!!!
I guess if my only real beef so far is not being able to access the internet and having no phone or anything, then that is really minor. :)

I hope the photos and blogging work out better soon. We are all so anxious to see more of Leeza. Not to sound discouraging, but daily postings from Astana last year regularly took a couple of hours as time after time, photos would fail to load. I found that always doing them one at a time gave me the best hope, and then if that photo didn't load within a few minutes, I would cancel and start again. You will develop a sense of how long it takes for an image to successfully upload, and then adjust you pace that way. For me it was between 2:10-2:40, longer than that and I knew it had hung up and I should cancel and try again. It is frustrating, but really, what else do you have to do?

Thanks for your wonderful post before this. I feel bad as you apologize for length knowing I routinely post very long entries. I think you will find that you could write paragraphs about the way she coughs and we would all follow along on the edge of our seats. Do you get a visit on Sundays in Kostanai?

So gald to hear that Sean is so engaged in the whole experience. He sounds so loving towards his sister. Take Care.

I'm with KJ and Steve -- our posts were ALWAYS long, especially with our Internet issues. So, don't apologize. We are soaking it all in, and besides, we are "family" too, right?! It is so weird to read about your tech issues as I feel your pain, but we eventually just settled in and the slow dial-up service just became a part of the entire adventure. Of course, we are craving as many pics as you can find time to post, but we love your words, too. We are just so happy that the three of you are all there together with Leeza, and Sean will remember this adventure for the rest of his life. It brings tears to my eyes thinking about him telling Leeza about his visits with her years from now.

What a precious smile! I am glad you got a few pictures to upload. We always had to significantly lower the resolution of ours to get them to upload, and it often still took several tries before success. Even though we wrote the entries in word, posting to the blog took forever! We had to use dial up during our entire Kazakhstan stay, but we got used to it; in fact, it's weird being able to post so many pictures from home so easily! Anyhow, I really hope you end up with a faster internet connection at some point so you can post lots of pictures of the cutie pie!

One day Leeza will read this and ask, "What's dial up?"

Hi Man-

She is really sooo adorable. I understand you wanting to stay. It breaks my heart to think of you leaving her! I wish they didn't make it soo tough- but I know she was worth the wait and then some. Give Sean and Joe a hug from us- we are thinking of you guys.

I wish we could talk!

Love those cheeks!!

I'm sure this has probably already been mentioned, but Jim's rule of thumb that he impressed upon me for dial up is never try to upload anything bigger than 50kb in size.

Sticking to that rule, I rarely had any problems unless the connection itself went off.

Good luck!!

Oh, I understanding totally. We felt really isolated with the internet there.

Oh little Leeza is a little Angel. Look at those cheeks - I cant want to meet her in person. Hurry up!

I have been out of town and without laptop so missed the first couple of days. But I'm so happy to see that you've been having a fairy tale experience with your little princess. Leeza is beautiful and seems to be so attached to you all already too! I love hearing about all of the details. She sounds like she is incredibly sweet.

Of course I can't wait for more photos either. You have probably already heard this - but are you re-sizing the photos to be at least the smallest web size? I did this and it took only a minute for each photo to load (now if I tried to post too many it would crap out too... so maybe you'll have to leave the rest of the 256 for when you get back!).
