Twas the day of our court date, it was rainy and cold
I was nervous and excited-glad that Joe WASN'T too old
I did not sleep a wink-although I had nothing to fear
Just such a HUGE day after waiting over a year
I rose at 7, and took a hot shower
I had to summon clear mental power
My breakfast was coffee and 2 Pepcid's too
It was the day we have waited for-I just wanted it through!
We donned our fine duds and we got to the court house
I was so happy to have the support of Sean and my spouse
I spent 2 hours going thru pictures to show the judge
of how much we love Leeza (just in case she was holding a grudge)
She did not ask to see them, but the prosecuter -he did
but I guess he was convinced she is one loved, happy kid!!!
It was over so quick, and yes, I did cry
Sean got embarrassed and gave a big sigh
There was no need to fret, or worry, or frown
Cuz Leeza Grace is the newest Serra in town!!!
She was happy today and all full of smiles
I think she knew she had parents who came thousands of miles
Now in 15 days, we can take her, she's legally ours!!
Thanks be to God -we all feel like Rock Stars!!

Tears of joy flowing down my face. I just knew everything would be OK but I was still a nervous wreck (me! what about YOU, YOU were in the court room). Only 2 Pepcids, darling this was a bottle of Valium moment!

I remember the flood gates opening when the judge was announcing his decision. The fact that I had longed for a family all my life and here it was actually happening at my "old age" was emotionally overwhelming.
Miracles do happen. And we just witnessed another one.

CONGRATULATIONS! You all looked so terrific - all dressed up and so proud. I loved Sean's big brother pride - it shines through across the miles. And your little old soul, intuitive Leeza.
