Leeza's Certificate of Citizenship arrived today!!

I got teary eyed today when Leeza's Certificate of Citizenship arrived today. I still get weepy when I see "Leeza Grace Serra" in print.
It's so cool to see and comes in this manilla envelope that says "From the White House" and A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES with a letter from George Bush!! YAY! Now I can apply for her passport, social security card, and readopt her here at home.

Here is Leeza on a chilly Florida friday night in her princess sweat pants, eating a cheesy bread stick from Pizza Planet, on her new chair I scored at a garage sale for just $3!!!!

We were home one month on Tuesday of this week, November 18th. I can't believe we've been home that long already, but then again, it seems like she has ALWAYS been here! She is doing amazingly well. She is so happy, and she has a really great disposition! She has been met with such open arms by everyone here. I drive carpool on Friday's, and there is always big discussions about "who gets to sit by Leeza". If I get out of the car, Leeza and I are "mauled" by fifth graders.

Sean has been just amazing. He is doing GREAT in school--I feel like he has matured a great deal. He is just precious with his sister. He is so great at playing with her and it's so cute to see that way she lights up when she sees him.

This was taken this morning at the donut shop. Leeza eats her own egg sandwich (scrambled egg, white american cheese on an english muffin) and half a punkin spice donut. She continues to have a great appetite, and a great lil system and sits on the potty like a champ. She is a great sleeper, and a late sleeper-often until 9 am or after. I love it now-but I am thinking that she will not be much fun to get up for school someday...but we have a few years on that. :)

Her walking skills continue to improve day by day-she wants to RUN and if she'd slow down she'd fall A LOT LESS-good thing the diaper provides some padding. :)
She also talks up a storm-not sure what she is saying-but she is VERY talkative and VERY feminine. She has 3 tea sets and she loves to play with them-it amazes me she knows what to do when I never showed her. :)

My wonderful and incredible talented friend Karen did some great photo's of Leeza the first weekend we were home. I think she looks so much bigger already..
I chose the song "Pocketful of Sunshine" because the define Leeza's radiant personality..she is a true beauty. :)

Here is the link-they're pretty cute!
(you have to copy and paste it into your internet browser cuz I don't know how to do links in blogger)

Wow, those eyes are AMAZING in Karen's photography pictures. You are so awesome Susan. I STILL haven't taken Gigi to get professional pictures. Does that make me a horrible mother? Probably. She did an awesome job, though with great subject material, she could hardly go wrong! Those pictures of Leeza are amazing.

That is so funny that Leeza has 3 tea sets and she knows how to use them. I always dreamed of having comportment lessons (dining skills being among the top) with my child. It sounds like Leeza will pick it all up in a snap. Gigi- well, not so much. She'll probably just pick up the cup and bang it around. :-)

Isn't the CoC awesome? I still get all teary eyed looking at Gigi's. Not to mention that oh so cute baby passport photo. Hard to believe my little 6 month old is almost 2!!! Soak up this time now 'cause it goes SOOOOO fast!!! (As you well know with Sean.) BTW, he has amazing eyes too, doesn't he? That was the first thing I noticed in the picture of Sean and Leeza- his very vibrant eyes.

Loved this update!

Love you!

I cried as I watched the slide show of pics... and the song... it is so appropriate! She is a beautiful little lady and I think she knows it! ;)

I did the happy dance the day we receive Jonathan's COC. It is a special moment for IA parents!! Congrats on receiving Leeza. She even looks cute in her COC pic! Jonathan looked like someone had taken his favorite toy in his pic!!!

CoC? Do you just get that or did I miss an application somewhere along the way? Hopefully, the former. Congratulations! It is all so crazy, isn't it?! What were we doing last year at this time? Pining away for our daughters, I think. I was also working on the good old dossier. Now, they are home and life is good! So glad everything is going so well. I love the photo of Leeza and Sean. I always thought he would be a great big brother.

I owe you an email . . . I am going to try to catch up with correspondence this weekend.

I agree with you and everyone else, getting those official docs with her name printed out and her little picture there is just amazing. It is an affirmation of all the faith and belief you brought into the whole process, a vindication for all the setback and heartache, and a confirmation that things are now just as they were meant to be.

I can't believe it's been a month! Though isn't it wonderful how quickly things seem to normalize. I also freaked out when we first got Miras' Kaz passport and his new name was in print on it - all legal and such. Today we received his birthcertificate from our state - another milestone.

Beautiful photos. We have yet to get professional photos done of Miras and I"ve really been wanting to. We just have to find the right person.
