Make new friends, but keep the old....

One is silver, and the other gold. Now, everybody sing together, in ROUNDS.
:)

I thought I'd share the picture that was taken last night when a few of the Florida Future Kaz mommies got together! Sandi couldn't make it, as they were celebrating her dad's birthday in Orlando. We missed you Sandi!

For the intro, we have Super skinny Suzanne on the left in the red, behind her is the Sassy Shannon, beside her is me, and Sean.
To the right, we have Matthew, Suzanne's very smart, funny, and talented hubby, and the "newbie", Stephanie, who is just beginning the process.

Suzanne, the most incredible, well informed, dedicated researcher I've ever known, brought a new friend who is just starting this journey. Her name starts with an S too...Stephanie!
So, we have Suzanne, Shannon, Stephanie, Sandi, and Susan. Isn't that funny?

Mellow Mushroom makes great pizza, and they have really good beer too! I sampled like 5 kinds and finally settled on a really good one! It was in a real tall glass and I managed to drink every drop!

Sean got dragged along too, and he was very interested in the conversation, for the most part. When he got tired of listening, he brought along his ipod.

What a wonderful journey we're on -one where you can add new faces and places to your repetoire, and that's all before you get the kid! I feel so incredibly blessed to have met so many wonderful people on this journey. I don't know what we'd do without the internet and the yahoo groups that have been formed. I would not have met all these incredible ladies!!

I think Sean should be the Sassy one, for giving you rabbit ears ;-)

That was a really nice time and I'm so glad we all have each other!

I'm still stuffed, by the way ;-0

I had a great time last night, thank you. I'm jealous of our little Tampa Bay group - look at all those expecting hotties!

I had a great time. Cant' wait to meet up with you and all the S's for Journey to Jemima. I sent an email over the Kaz listserv to see if there are any other local Kaz families. I didn't send an open invite, just to see who's out there. they gotta be cool like you to join us!

Sounds like a great time! Wonderful to have friends while on this journey. Just wait till you get all the Kaz kiddos home - even more of a time to celebrate!

Congratulations to Sean on his great report card, by the way!

S ladies, this is great to make friends who you can talk about your future Kaz children and also to live so close.
When I will have to relocate, this will be one more reason to have Florida on my list.
I think we are so lucky to have have each other, we are like a little Kaz family.

So wild to check out your three blogs today and see one right after the other with (since you all are S's) the same pic!!! Too funny. Had a feeling of deja vu times 2.

Hey next meet up you should do like sequential pics. The first one is normal with you all waving at the camera...on Shannon's Blog...the next one is you all ready to start a food fight ... on Susan's Blog...and the last one captured while the food is a flying...on Suzanne's Blog. No? Okay. Just an idea to spice up the blogosphere. LOL

How fun!! I'm meeting a fellow Russian PAP on Thursday and I'm quite excited! Maybe I'll suggest Mellow Mushroom, too. We love them, too!!

I hate to leave a comment about beer but a few blogs ago you said you liked Miller Chill. I tried it shortly after reading it when I was out with some of my girlfriends. I loved it! It's a nice alternative to light beer and corona if you don't want to mess with the lime. My most recent find was at a specialty market called "Jungle Jims" It's a canadian Pear Cider...love it. One glass over ice is a great treat!

How nice that you are so close to so many other families adopting from Kaz. I wish we had more Kaz adoptive families near us.

How nice to have each other so close. Thx for sharing the picture. You all look great! I wish I knew people on this path who lived near me in Virginia.

Susan,
Checked in on you all to see if you were still in sunny florida or breaking in those boots yet....what a great group of expecting mothers! And how nice that you don't have to give up a cold frosty one while you await your beautiful baby!
Can't wait to to read the next post....hopefully from afar. Good luck!

Susan, blogger ate the original comment I posted here. I hope this doesn't post twice!
Thanks for your comments on my blog! I'm so bummed about your super-cool boots. Now we'll just have to obsess about stylish shoes for warmer weather, though. (I had no idea that adoption would bring out a shoe fetish in me. Ugh.)
I think I'm going to have to join you in readjusting my travel expectations. Maybe sometime in the next 2 months? 3 months? Hard to say...I had to request maternity leave last October, when my agency was suggesting travel in Dec/Jan. I'm using the maternity leave right now. So I technically won't have any leave time left in 2-3 months. But I can't go back to teaching right in the middle of a term - classes are already going. Ugh. We'll just have to see what happens for the spring teaching term (april through june). Thanks for commiserating!

I am grateful that we have each other as we go through this process. It is going to be awesome that our kids will get to grow up around each other. Sandi
