One way to beat the heat...

The HEAT is on this summer for sure, as we are in the middle of some kind of heat wave. It's MISERABLE, truly. I have been running at 5:15 to avoid the sun, and EVEN THEN, it's still 88 degrees with nary a breeze. With a mere 5 mile run, you are a sweaty gross smelly mess. Well, Leeza has the right idea. Her imagination takes HER to Colorado, where she is cold cuz it's snowing, and makes sure to don her gloves and mittens (from when she was a baby). She CRACKS ME UP!

I adore this age...the imaginary play is so fun. She is always cookin us something in her Sesame Street kitchen. She takes your order, but if if you order something she doesn't want you to have, she tells you, "No, you no have that" and Sean scolds her for her use of double negatives. :)

When you ask her full name, she responds with "Eeza Grace Serra", and then sometimes will say LALALALALA eeeeza" as we are trying to get to say LEEZA instead of EEZA because she CAN say the letter L sound properly, but just won't when it comes to her name. I ask her where she lives and she says "Florida" and I ask her where in Florida, and she says "Kazakhstan, Florida", i tell her NOOOOOOOOOOO, where you were you born? KAZAKHSTAN she says proudly. I say YEP, and she says Mommy was born in Kazakhstan too!! cutie.

We had our last art class for the year, and Leeza, the girl who used to HATE to get any paint on her at all, is now a LOVER of all textures and LOVES to fingerpaint. She has 2 small portable easels, but I thought she needed a bigger one to finger paint and draw and do all the fun art things that she likes (that Mommy hates). I found this one at a consigment store and scored some washable finger paint, and DRY ERASE CRAYONS at Michael's. She is notorious for leaving the lids off her markers and they all dry out. Joe was SO EXCITED to come home to yet ANOTHER EASEL in the house. He seems to think she has too many toys. However, she plays with them all so I say just DEAL with it. Her mind is growing. :)
